Judith Durocher
JUDITH DUROCHER
For 23 years, Judy has been honing her craft and career as a choral director and music educator. Driven by her passion for excellence, Judy brings to the MTC team a unique and valuable combination of counseling, teaching, musical and performance skills. She holds a Masters degree in Music Education and a second Masters in Counseling. She recently completed her Doctorate in Music Education at the University of Arizona. Before pursuing her Doctorate degree, Judy developed one of Arizona's most lauded and award-winning choral and show choir programs at Horizon High School and spent the last five years building the foundation of another outstanding program at the newest high school in the Paradise Valley School District; Pinnacle High School. Judy was recently hired by Scottsdale Community College as the Director of Choral and Vocal Activities. She has sung professionally with the nationally renowned Phoenix Bach Choir and is a member of the American Choral Directors' Association and the Music Educators National Conference. This year she was appointed as the Arizona Music Educators Association Conference Chair for the Choral Directors of Arizona and will present the results of her latest Sight-Reading research project, in conjunction with Dr. Shelly Cooper from the University of Arizona, at the National MENC conference. MTC is a step toward Judy's dream to provide exceptional learning opportunities to students who are serious about developing and refining their performing arts skills.


Beth Livingston-HakesBETH LIVINGSTON-HAKES
Beth Livingston-Hakes is one of the most highly regarded and sought-after voice teachers in the Valley. Her students are regularly recognized for their skill, musicality and professionalism in local and state competitions, collegiate and scholarship auditions, music theater roles and solo performances. In addition to her private voice studio, Beth teaches voice and music theory at Scottsdale Community College. An accomplished soprano, Beth sang with the Phoenix Bach Choir for 23 years and the Phoenix Chamber Singers, specializing in early music, for 12 years. Also a fine pianist, Beth brings musicianship and sensitive interpretations to her vocal coaching and accompanying. Beth's public school teaching was primarily at Saguaro High School where she directed the choirs, developed the dance program and was music director and choreographer of the musicals. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Illinois and has completed graduate work in music, dance, and humanities at ASU. Beth enthusiastically brings her talent, expertise and experience to the MTC classroom.


Polly ChapmanPOLLY CHAPMAN
Polly Chapman has over twenty-five years of experience in performing arts education, theater and television. She's Co-owner, Director, Choreographer and Instructor for Do, Re, Mi, School of the Arts in Scottsdale, where she's been helping develop self esteem in thousands of young people through participation in the performing arts for over seventeen years. Polly has produced, staged, directed, choreographed and performed in numerous productions throughout her career working with all ages, from toddlers to adult professional performers. An accomplished musical, comedic and dramatic actor Polly has performed numerous leads from Ibsen to Neil Simon. Along with her career in the performing arts and musical theater, for over 20 years, Polly has been a professional television and radio commercial actor. She is easily recognizable to a generation of Arizonans as "The Fry's Lady", the Television and radio spokesperson for Fry's Food and Drug Stores. Polly holds a Masters in Performance from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelors in Theater Arts from St. Cloud University in Minnesota. She is a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, (AFTRA). MTC students benefit from Polly's infectious enthusiasm and her innate ability to help students effectively and powerfully express themselves vocally and through movement and dance.


Lauren ChapmanLAUREN CHAPMAN AEA
Lauren has been working as a musical theater choreographer for the past ten years. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Music (Musical Theater) at Arizona State University and went on to work as a professional actress and choreographer in New York City, California, and Arizona. Lauren worked as a Director and Choreographer for the Off-Broadway theater company 'TADA! Youth Theater' in Manhattan for the past five years and most recently choreographed Arizona State University's spring production of "Urinetown" while serving as Guest Artist Faculty. She has taught over 30 in-school residencies and choreographed more than 60 musical theater and choral productions for students of all ages. Her specialty is teaching students of all levels how to feel confident through performance.
